The 7th International Conference on Physics and Applications of Spin-related Phenomena in Semiconductors (PASPS VII) will be held at the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, August 5-9, 2012.

campus image This edition of PASPS is the seventh in succession of successful biennial international congresses which started in 2000 in Sendai. The previous PASPS meetings were held in Sendai (2000, 2006), Würzburg (2002), Santa Barbara (2004), Foz do Iguaçu (2008) and Tokyo (2010).

This time we will meet in the Netherlands where the very concept of spin was put forth by two then graduate students. In a way, spin will come home! To introduce young scientists to the exciting field of semiconductor spintronics, the PASPS meeting in Eindhoven will begin with tutorials mainly for graduate students.

PASPS VII will focus on advances in using spin-related physics in semiconductor nanoelectronics with emphasis on hybrid structures and the future challenges for semiconductor spintronics. The conference is arranged as a satellite conference of the ICPS 2012, the 31st International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors to be held in Zurich, Switzerland.
